About the Journal
SWUPL Science and Technology Law Review is sponsored by Southwest University of Political Science & Law (SWUPL), with Professor Lin Wei, Deputy Secretary of the CPC SWUPL Committee and President of the University, serving as Editor-in-Chief. The journal is published by Wells Information Services Inc. (USA).
The journal explores global issues in science and technology law from a Chinese perspective and examines legal responses to the challenges of the digital economy. It addresses emerging topics such as artificial intelligence ethics and governance and algorithmic transparency, while also focusing on pressing issues including cross-border data flows and the protection of digital sovereignty.
The inaugural issue features two academic sections on the legal regulation of financial technology and personal information protection, as well as a section dedicated to research and practice in China’s internet judiciary. It includes eight research articles contributed by professors from leading Chinese universities, including Peking University, Wuhan University, Beihang University, Tongji University, and Xiamen University, as well as legal practitioners from the Hangzhou Internet Court. The issue also features China’s Top Ten Typical Internet Judiciary Cases (2023–2024), highlighting developments in China’s judicial practice in the field of science and technology.
As the convergence of law and technology continues to shape the contemporary legal landscape, the journal seeks to contribute to the international dissemination of Chinese scholarship in science and technology law. Through international academic exchange and specialized legal research, it aims to promote the development of a distinctive and globally engaged Chinese discourse in legal scholarship.
